Peaks and Plains Swimming League

The Peaks and Plains Swimming League is run jointly by Affiliated swimming clubs from Cheshire West and Cheshire East. The League is affiliated with Swim England North West Region and runs an annual team swimming competition. These team galas which typically take under 2 hours to run are aimed at very inexperienced swimmers and provide a gentle and generally noisy introduction to swimming.

Frequently asked Questions

Photography Policy

We remind everybody that Leisure Centre policy prohibits video or photography of the swimmers, the league fully support this policy. If you have any questions please come to the gala desk on poolside.

Note

Recent communications from Swim England have highlighted a growing problem within the sport relating to photography in changing areas. We remind everyone that it is illegal to take photographs of swimmers whilst they are changing, the authorities will be notified of any incidents noted at this Gala.

Spectators Fees

Note:We are trialing card payments this year but please bring cash if possible.

These fees along with the affiliation fees paid by clubs cover the costs of pool hire. Pool fees have increased significantly, and collecting door payments is essential for these galas to run. Some spectators previously stated they were unaware of charges, all of the money we take is used to cover the pool hire and Swim England fees levied on the league.

Car Parking

Parking to Avoid
Home Bargains Car Park (Opposite):
Now actively monitored; you will receive a ticket if you're not shopping at Home Bargains.

Retail Parks (Tesco, Dunelm, etc.): These are for their customers only, with ANPR cameras enforcing time limits, so parking for the Lifestyle Centre risks fines.

Suggested Parking

Delamere Street and Chester Street Car Parks: Council-run car parks within a short walk, offering alternative spaces.
